Amelia's first birthday portraits began with a clear idea from Mom: a girly strawberry-themed set to coordinate with her birthday party decor. We discussed the vision on our consultation call and planned the details around it.
I sourced decor from several shops and vendors to bring the set together. Fresh strawberries went out just before the session as the finishing touch. The cake complemented the styling, giving us a coordinated scene for Amelia's birthday photographs.
Alongside the strawberry set, we photographed Amelia against a simple pink backdrop with different props. With one-year-olds, we play and sing as we move between looks, allowing their expressions and curiosity to become part of the gallery.
Amelia was more interested in the strawberries than the cake! That is part of the charm of a cake smash: every baby has a different response, and the photographs capture their own way of exploring. We ended with a milk bath, where splashing and berries brought out lovely smiles.
Whether you have a party theme in mind or would like help choosing a direction, we can discuss the colors and details during your consultation. Explore the baby milestone and cake smash experience, then arrange a discovery call to begin planning your baby's session in Waterbury, Connecticut.
