I have many years of experience working with children, including 12 years of working with children of all ages in the educational setting. I work with you and your family to capture both posed and candid images during your family session, and we have fun doing so! Toddlers and teens alike are involved in the sessions and made to feel that their ideas matter. I work with your child to capture their genuine expressions and personality through interaction and play.

The Family Photography Consultation

After booking , we meet via phone or virtual meeting to discuss the plan for your family photography session. Photoshoots can take place at a location of your choice or in my Waterbury, CT portrait studio. I have some favorite locations I'm happy to recommend, though I love learning about new places and exploring if you have a specific location in mind!

A clothing consultation is included in your family photoshoot. Many clients bring me into their closets virtually or send me pictures to help put together the coordinated outfits. I am more than happy to give my input!

The Family Photography Session

A standard family or child photography session is unlimited in time to ensure we have captured a variety of picture-perfect images that you will absolutely love. I snap photos until the very end to ensure we don't miss any of those candid moments.

The Family Portrait Reveal Session

A few days after your session, you will be called for your photo reveal. At your in-person viewing session, we review your images together and select the images you would like to purchase. You will also have the opportunity to order professional-grade prints, wall art, and custom albums featuring your family photos.

Once your images are chosen, the editing magic begins. I'll perform thorough editing, including full facial retouching, to make sure your family portraits are nothing less than perfect. Every shoot comes with 2 images with complementary head swaps. Additional head swaps are available for purchase.

The Delivery

My favorite part of the portrait experience is receiving the final product! When you receive your beautiful products to have and to love, whether it's displayed on your coffee table or large on the wall. You should enjoy it for many years to come!

Family and Child Q&A

What happens if it rains on the day of our scheduled photoshoot?: Weather is unpredictable. If there is inclement weather on the day of your shoot, the determination will be made whether or not to push off your session date the day of the session. At times rain may be in the forecast, though it may be a passing shower and the session can still be held. Determined on a case-by-case basis.

In the event that it cannot be held that day, we will work together to find a new date and time that work for you!
What time do you photograph outdoor photo sessions?: Outdoor photography sessions take place during Golden Hour, and therefore approximately 1.5 hours before sunset is our start time. The lighting at this time of day is unparalleled, helping create those gorgeous images you were dreaming of!
What clothing is best to wear for my photo session?: Solids are my favorite for portrait sessions. They are nondistracting and help draw your eye toward the face of the subjects.

Neutrals are always beautiful and classic. Though in the right location, coordinated colors or a splash of color as an accent can be beautiful.

Clothes also do not need to all be the same or the same color; coordination is the goal.

Clothing consultation is included in every session and I am happy to walk you through the process.
Is there a limit to how many people can be included in a photography session?: Not at all! We can include as many people as you like for the photoshoot.
