There is something incredibly special about capturing the first-year milestone. From tiny newborn toes to tentative first steps, that first trip around the sun is full of growth, giggles, and unforgettable moments. I recently had the honor of photographing baby M for his one-year-old session and could not be more thrilled with the results! 

We planned his session to be similar color tones to the newborn session, with sages and blues. In addition to the themed birthday balloon set, we also planned to incorporate some monochromatic sage and blue sets to add to the beautiful gallery. We selected some beautiful rompers from the client's closet to be used at the session that coordinated perfectly with the backdrops.

Baby M did not disappoint on session day!

He enjoyed engaging with our wooden toys, and we captured so many adorable smiles and beautiful expressions on the go. He loved to climb and move. He especially enjoyed climbing on our box props and ladder. 

On our themed set, we made sure to get in a few images with props before we brought out the cake. Baby M enjoyed our little rattan chair and vintage car toy.

When cake came out, he took a few bites of it, though Baby M was not particularly a fan. While most parents picture the baby to go all in with frosting-coated fingers and toes, many babies aren't so into it, and that is just fine too! We made sure to get a lot of beautiful images before the cake to ensure we have many options to choose from.
