Matthew and Isabella’s newborn portrait session was planned to celebrate them together and individually. During our consultation, we chose soft neutrals for their shared portraits, with classic rose pink and soft blue for their individual setups.
We began with portraits on soft fabric, keeping the styling simple so the focus stayed on the babies’ faces and their connection. Then we moved through wrapped setups using miniature beds, bowls, and a textured rug.
We used similar colors, props, and compositions for the individual portraits, helping the images work together in an album or wall display. At the same time, each baby had photographs of their own.
Matthew and Isabella settled beautifully for this session. We photographed them wrapped and in several other setups, following their comfort and allowing time for feeding, changing, and soothing. Their session lasted about four and a half hours, giving us room to work at their pace.
The family’s photographs were arranged in a custom heirloom album with a neutral cover. We designed the pages so the twins’ individual portraits complemented one another, alongside images of them together.
Planning for the finished album helped connect the colors and compositions throughout their session. Get in touch to discuss newborn portraits for your family.
